Reporting to the senior engineer, maintenance, in the maintenance engineering department, your knowledge of mechanical equipment and design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations in a mining environment.
In this role, you will:
Solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment and failures;
Maximize equipment availability, reliability, and performance through effective problem solving and preventative maintenance practices;
Develop and refine asset-specific strategies to improve equipment health and prevent or eliminate equipment failure;
Work closely with maintenance personnel in the field to support daily maintenance activities and identify continuous improvement opportunities;
Provide technical support for new or modified site equipment, process changes, and drawings;
Compile data and prepare technical reports or coordinate technical reporting as required for regulatory submission;
Support site capital and expense projects, ensuring project deliverables are met in the form of scope, schedule, and budget.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering;
Four to eight years of relevant industry experience;
Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation;
Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS);
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills;
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering;
Exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and technologies;
Experience in a mining/milling environment;
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems; SAP experience preferred;
Experience with planning and scheduling activities;
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
