Description

As a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer, you'll make an impact by directly influencing development speed, deployment reliability, and system resilience by creating automation frameworks that enable teams to innovate confidently while maintaining governance and compliance across Azure environments. You will lead technical delivery for complex modules, translate client requirements into high-quality solutions, and guide a team of developers while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. You will be a valued member of our IoT Smart Manufacturing practice and work collaboratively with our Program Manager.

**In this role, you will**

- Design, build, and maintain reusable YAML-based CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

- Develop and optimize continuous integration and delivery pipelines leveraging Azure cloud-native architectures.

- Define and enforce Git flow branching strategies for collaborative development.

- Implement and automate Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM templates, and related DevOps tools.

- Integrate and manage Azure services: Data Factory, Data Lakes, Databricks, Function Apps, and Microservices.

- Establish and enforce CI/CD standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.

- Automate deployment and operational processes using PowerShell, YAML, JSON, REST APIs, and Python 3.

- Implement code quality, security scanning, and monitoring tools (e.g., SonarQube, JFrog).

- Troubleshoot and debug deployment pipelines within Windows environments.

- Participate in requirements gathering, JAD sessions, and clarify scope with clients and SMEs.

- Provide technical oversight, review deliverables, and ensure alignment with architectural direction.

- Drive innovation initiatives, create reusable tools/assets, and contribute to thought leadership (whitepapers, forums).

- Mentor team members, conduct technical evaluations, and promote knowledge sharing

**What you'll need to succeed (required skills)**

- 8+ years of proven experience building reusable YAML-based CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

- Strong expertise in Azure cloud-native tools and services (Data Factory, Data Lakes, Databricks, Function Apps, Microservices).

- Proficiency in Terraform, ARM templates, and DevOps tools for planning, building, testing, releasing, and monitoring.

- Advanced scripting skills: PowerShell, YAML, JSON, REST APIs, Python 3.

- Solid understanding of Git flow branching strategies and familiarity with code quality/security tools (SonarQube).

- Experience in Windows environment debugging and operational automation.

**What will help you stand out (preferred skills)**

- Exposure to Generative AI concepts and integration within Azure ecosystems.

- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS).

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Calgary, AB.
