Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) is a Non for Profit Professional Organization geared towards providing a safe environment for Black Engineers where they can aspire and become a better version of themselves. We empower and uplift the Black Engineers community, including youth and aspiring engineers, by advocating for equitable opportunities, enhancing living conditions, and promoting mental health improvement. We achieve this through robust mentorship programs, impactful networking events, innovative educational initiatives, safe spaces for difficult conversations, and dedicated research efforts. The Opportunity
We are searching for an Onboarding Coordinator (Volunteer) who will handle the following responsibilities by dedicating 5 - 10 hours weekly of volunteer time.
- Work collaboratively with the Recruiters and Committee Leads to coordinate and support the onboarding of new volunteers.
- Ensure new volunteers have timely access to all required systems, tools, and onboarding materials.
- Coordinate the distribution, completion, and tracking of all required onboarding documentation.
- Conduct follow-ups with new volunteers to support training completion, answer questions, and encourage early engagement.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to enhance training integration.
- Perform additional onboarding or administrative duties as required to support program needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Interest in supporting community, social, or charitable initiatives.
- Onboarding or training experience preferred.
- Education in Human Resources or related fields is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Passion for volunteer engagement, inclusion, and mission-driven work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
