We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. The position of Engineer in Training (EIT) supports our asset management programs for highway surfaces and culvert assets in the Yukon. This includes spending the summer season (May-September) mainly in the field conducting condition inspections throughout the territory on different transportation assets. The incumbent will spend the winter months mainly in the office where they will assist in developing plans for future rehabilitation projects.
Under the direction of a Supervising Engineer/Mentor, the purpose of the Engineer in Training position will provide incumbents with supervised work experience, while continually increasing responsibilities to a professional level. By completing separate assignments which offer a variety of technical work and training opportunities, the incumbent will be exposed to engineering problems and solutions which will provide a solid career foundation and appropriate work experience towards registration as a professional engineer.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Completion of degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering disciplines directly related to highways and transportation from an accredited Canadian University.
- Experience related to transportation asset management or transportation planning is an asset.
- Experience as an Engineer in Training or similar type position is considered an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
- Must be eligible for registration as an Engineer in Training with Engineers Yukon within 6 months of hiring.
- Proof of completion of Engineering degree from an accredited Canadian university within 6 months of hiring.

- Willingness to travel throughout Yukon
